Grandmaster Mountain Kim, the President and founder of Mountain Kim Martial Arts, was one of the first people to start a Tae Kwon Do school in the metropolitan area. A former Taekwondo and Judo Team Leader and graduate of Hanyang University, Korea, with BA in Physical Education, Grandmaster Mountain Kim, has many accomplishments including: 9th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and Judo 9th Degree

Head Master Instructor

At just 27 years old, Master J has dedicated more than 20 years of his life to the study and practice of martial arts. His passion for martial arts began at a young age and has grown into a lifelong commitment to training, teaching, and helping others become the best versions of themselves.
Master J currently holds a 4th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, a 1st Degree Black Belt in Hapkido, and a Yellow Belt in Judo. Throughout his martial arts career, he has competed in and won multiple Taekwondo tournaments, including earning NC State Gold and 1st Place at the 2026 Mt. Kim Judo Tournament.
While competition has been an important part of his journey, Master J believes that martial arts is about much more than winning trophies. His greatest passion is teaching and helping students develop confidence, discipline, respect, perseverance, and leadership both inside and outside the dojang.
With over 20 years of martial arts experience, Master J brings his knowledge, experience, and passion to every class. His goal is to create an environment where every student, regardless of age or experience, can challenge themselves, build confidence, and discover what they are capable of achieving.
Martial arts is not just something Master J teaches. It is a way of life he has dedicated more than 20 years to mastering and sharing with others.

Instructor Paul

Instructor Paul began his Taekwondo journey as a young boy, training under Arlene Limas, an American Olympic Taekwondo athlete, in Stafford, Virginia. His dedication to martial arts has continued throughout the years, earning him his 3rd Degree Black Belt.
In addition to Taekwondo, Instructor Paul coaches Kickboxing, helping students build confidence, fitness, discipline, and practical martial arts skills.
Outside of martial arts, Paul is the owner of Velocity K9 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. When he isn't training or working with students, he enjoys spending time outdoors and hiking.
Paul is passionate about helping students challenge themselves, grow their skills, and develop confidence both inside and outside the dojang.
